COPUOS (Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space) meetings involves managing the increasing complexity of space activities, focusing on the Space2030 Agenda for sustainable development, addressing space debris, implementing guidelines for long-term sustainability (LTS), and planning for future lunar and deep space navigation (Cislunar PNT), all within the framework of the UN's goal to foster international cooperation and peaceful use of space. Key activities in 2026 include the Scientific & Technical Subcommittee (STSC) focusing on space & global health, space nuclear power, and LTS, alongside the Legal Subcommittee (LSC) working on space law treaties and space delimitation.
